Your Google Business Profile is often the first thing a local customer sees. These are the fixes I make for every client, in the order I make them.
1. Get the basics exactly right
- Use your real business name, with no added keywords.
- Choose the most specific primary category, then add relevant secondary categories.
- Make your name, address and phone number (NAP) identical everywhere online.
- Set accurate opening hours, including holiday hours.
2. Fill in every service and product
Add each service with a short description written the way customers search. This helps Google match your profile to more searches.
3. Write a description for people, not robots
Say what you do, who you help and where. Mention your main services naturally and keep it easy to read.
4. Add real photos every month
Upload photos of your team, location and work. Fresh, genuine photos build trust and keep the profile active.
5. Post on Google every week
Use Google Posts for offers, updates and tips. A steady rhythm shows the business is active.
6. Build a review strategy
- Ask happy customers for reviews at the right moment.
- Reply to every review, positive or negative.
- Never buy or fake reviews.
7. Answer questions in Q&A
Add the questions customers ask most, with clear answers. This also helps AI search tools understand your business.
8. Support it with your website
Create a location page for each area you serve, add local schema markup and link to your profile.
